Description | Follicular fluid meiosis-activating sterol (FF-MAS) is a factor present in the pre-ovulatory follicle during the time of oocyte maturation. FF-MAS was first identified in follicular fluid of women and plays a key role in oocyte nuclear maturation. The levels of FF-MAS may be regulated by cytochrome P450 family 27 subfamily A member. Supplementation of FF-MAS to oocytes promotes meiotic maturation favoring preimplantation. |
