DiR Fluorescent Control Liposomes (Anionic)
Catalog Number | BL-000042 |
Description | The fluorescent control liposome contains the lipophilic dye DiR incorporated into the bilayer. It has similar physical and chemical properties to clodronate liposomes. It can be used to track cell uptake of liposomes by common methods such as confocal and flow cytometry. |
Appearance | Dark blue liquid suspension |
Shelf Life | Recommended using the product within 60 days from the date of production. |
Storage | Liposomes should be kept at 4°C and NEVER be frozen. |
Shipping | Shipped on blue ice at 4°C |
Details | DiR/DiOC18 (7) is a near-infrared fluorescent lipophilic fluorescent dye that is highly fluorescent when incorporated into a film. It has a very high extinction coefficient and a short excited-state lifetime (about 1 nanosecond) in a lipid environment. |
Excitation/Emission | 750nm/780nm |
Lipid Composition | Phosphatidylglycerol, Phosphatidylcholine and Cholesterol |
Mean Particle Size | 1.5-2 µm |
Buffer | Phosphate buffered saline |
pH | 7.4 |
Note | If left idle in the refrigerator, phase separation occurs (precipitate forms at the bottom of the vial, leaving a clear solution on top). Before use, shake gently to form a homogeneous solution to avoid the formation of air bubbles. |
