| Details | The far-red fluorescent lipophilic cyanine dye DiD is a longer-wavelength DiI analog. It faintly fluoresces in water but has high fluorescence and considerable light stability when incorporated into the film. It has a very high extinction coefficient and a short excited-state lifetime (about 1 nanosecond) in a lipid environment. |
